Ramblings from my life…

Be still…

Psalm 46:10-11

10 “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

11 The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, sometimes we don’t take time to just Be still. Turn off everything and just sit, listen, breathe in. My favorite place to sit still is on a crispy fall morning. You can hear the breeze through the trees and smell in the flavor of the earth.

I’ve often got caught up in each day’s activities. Always glancing at the calender to what is next on the agenda. Making lists to complete chores, organizing food for meals and things for school. It is not often that we get a chance to be still.

Having my morning quiet time has helped me reflect on the beauty of quietness. Quiet is refreshing, calming and peaceful.

My dad is in the hospital again with pneumonia. Times like these can be stressful for everyone. We all worry and pray. Dad is hurting, tired. Mom is stressed, worried. We just need to breathe in all the glory of God… and Be Still…

Steven Curtis Chapman \ Be Still And Know

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is holy
Be still oh restless soul of mine
Bow before the prince of Peace
Let the noise and clamor cease

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is faithful
Consider all that He has done
Stand in awe and be amazed
And know that He will never change
Be still

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is God
Be still
Be speechless

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know He is our Father
Come rest your head upon His breast
Listen to the rhythm of
His unfailing heart of love
Beating for His little ones
Calling each of us to come
Be still
Be still

    This is a fine example of what we ought to be doing in a time of personal crisis or for that matter, every day. Your thoughts warmed my heart, and filled my head with peace. Thank you for the words of wisdom, you are the best! Keep on sharing, it’s what I need to hear.
