Ramblings from my life…

Little Miracles

Last night the phone rang at 3:30 am. Usually this would mean a wrong number or an emergency. While husband searched for the phone, I sighed knowing that I would not be able to fall back asleep. The man on the phone indicated that he was with US Airways and that he was outside our home with our missing luggage. Thinking it was a misunderstanding I replied with, “You are outside? At 3:30 am?” to which he said, “Yes ma’am,” read our address, “at 3:30 am!” Husband went outside and retrieved his long lost luggage! I was right that it had never left Rome. They found it a week later and sent it on a long trip home (several flights!). Nothing is missing but they sure did rummage through it. The best part had to be when Pig Will woke up this morning and saw her care bear. She stated that she thought it was missing but didn’t know it was lost! Too cute.

Yet another thing that proves the power of prayer. I felt a bit silly praying for lost luggage when there are people suffering from illness, pain, loss of a loved one, etc… but I did it anyway… and the Lord provided. I’m relived because of the memory card – personal pictures of my kids that I didn’t want to fall in the wrong hands.

Now, I just have two week old dirty laundry to wash…

That is terrific!!! God is so good. He cares about all our needs. What a great teaching point about prayer with your girls. Don’t forget God wants us to pray without ceasing and bring all our cares to Him – even lost items. In those little miracles our faith is grows for the times we need huge miracles and His strength! So glad you were able to recover all your stuff. Now you don’t have to go men’s clothes shopping too soon!

  2. You know that’s happened to my son twice with United Airlines. He’s flown home and his luggage was not with him; then at sometime between 2:00-3:30AM his luggage arrives at our door!
